Where is the Defense?
Not sure what happened to that young squad from the pre-season but we are getting bombarded right now. It seems the real weakness lies amongst the cornerbacks and safeties.
R.W. McQuarters and Corey Webster are two of the main reasons why we need to rotate our players more frequently. They’re getting beat on the long pass ridiculously. Let’ give some more time to the rookie Aaron Ross and let him grasp the game further. Gibril Wilson is another player contributing to the defense and making it count with a couple of interceptions.
We need to tighten up the long yard gains from other teams and figure out a way to use the older players in a cover scheme rather than the aggresive man to man.
I don’t know, but the management needs to make adjustments quick before we let this season slip. We are 0-2 and play the Redskins next; then it’s the Eagles. If we don’t change patterns now, this season might not be what we expected.
Let’s hope the coaching motivates this defense to step up and challenge players to make plays.
