Week 11 Game Ball: Michael Strahan
![]()
The defense showed up to play today. They needed to if they were going to slow down a potent Detroit offense. The Lions decided to double team Umenyiora which resulted in Strahan having a monster game. Die Hard Giants Fan is giving the Week 11 (Game 10) Game Ball to Michael Strahan. This week, it’s actually a no brainer again. Here’s a look at his stats for today’s game: 5 Tackles, 1 Assist, and 3 Sacks. The stats were provided by NFL.com.
The Giants’ defense forced the Lions to punt in their first 5 possessions. Strahan was a big part of that because his sacks put the Lions in multiple 3rd and very long situations. Besides the official sacks that Strahan accrued, he was all over Jon Kitna all game which forced Kitna to hurry his throws all day. With Kitna forced to throw prematurely, the defensive backs were able to rack up 3 interceptions. That wouldn’t of happened if Strahan wasn’t applying the pressure that he did. But remember this, all of this happened because the Lions double teamed Umenyiora.
Props to Michael Strahan.
