Ward: Broken Ankle
ESPN.com is reporting that Derrick Ward has a broken ankle and could be lost for the season. If that is the case it is a blow to the offense as Ward has been huge this year with injuries to the other Giant Running backs.
The silver lining here is that Jacobs is expected back next week and their is a slight chance, that if the fracture is only a hairline fracture, Ward may be able to give it a go come playoff time. Obviously Droughns will see an increase in playing time down the stretch.

this just ran on the wire:
Giants’ RB Derrick Ward breaks leg, out indefinitely
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Giants leading rusher Derrick Ward broke his leg Sunday against the Chicago Bears and will be out indefinitely.
Ward fractured his left fibula, the thinner of the two bones extending from the knee to the ankle, in the fourth quarter of New York’s 21-16 come-from-behind victory. He rushed 24 times for a career-high 154 yards.
The fourth-year player leads the Giants with 602 yards despite missing the previous four games due to ankle and groin injuries.
“It’s tough to deal with,” Ward said. “I’ll bounce back from this like I bounced back from all the other ones.”
Brandon Jacobs, the opening day starter who has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, could replace Ward on Sunday at Philadelphia.

Thanks for the update Junior. It seemed serious based on what I read last night. This is a big loss because big man Jacobs keeps getting injured after a couple of starts. Last night, Ward said he hopes he can pull a T.O., meaning he can start in the Superbowl.

I think we lost Ward for rest of season. I hope that he’s ankle heals,I felt his pain. It was sad to see now Ward hurt. I’m hoping our Giants play good wtih Droughns. I’m keeping the Faith as a true Giants fan would.

All we can do is hope the tandem Jacobs and Droughns can continue what the 3-headed monster was able to do without missing a beat. We wish Ward a healthy return.
