Giants Playoff Scenario
The New York Football Giants can clinch a Playoff berth in Week 16 with a win over the Buffalo Bills. If they lose then they need a Washington loss or tie and a New Orleans loss or tie. The Giants are currently the 5 seed, and the Vikings are currently the 6 seed. Here’s a look at the remaining schedules for the Giants, Vikings, Saints, and Redskins:
New York Giants
12/23/2007 @ Buffalo 1:00 p.m.
12/29/2007 New England 8:15 p.m.
Minnesota Vikings
12/23/2007 Washington 1:00 p.m.
12/30/2007 @ Denver 4:15 p.m.
New Orleans Saints
12/23/2007 Philadelphia 1:00 p.m.
12/30/2007 @ Chicago 1:00 p.m.
Washington Redskins
12/23/2007 @ Minnesota 1:00 p.m.
12/30/2007 Dallas 1:00 p.m.
The Giants would have to lose both remaining games and New Orleans or Washington would have to win out. The good thing is that the Vikings and the Redskins face each other head-to-head. I can definitely see the Vikings winning out. This would give the Redskins their one loss. If the Redskins do beat the Vikings, then the Redskins face Dallas in Week 17, and can lose that game depending on how important it is to the Cowboys. The Saints have 2 games against teams that have been eliminated already. We need one upset for us to clinch a Wild Card berth.
