Saturday’s Giants Links
![]()
It is game time in Green Bay right now. It is snowing lightly now. I’m looking forward to a great weekend of Divisional Playoffs. I wish I was in Title Town, USA right now. I need to get up there. They are playing in some great stadiums this weekend: Lambeau Field, Texas Stadium, and Gillette Stadium. Gillette Stadium isn’t the same, but it’s becoming that way because the Patriots have been undefeated at home during the Playoffs since Bill Belichick jumped on the scene…and it’s been a while now that they’ve been doing it. The only stadium that I’m not looking forward to is the RCA Dome. I’m not a fan of domes, and I’m definitely not a fan of domes in the Playoffs. Enjoy the games.
Giants vs. Cowboys Key Matchups
Newsday:
Giants take stabs at Crayton’s jabs - The Giants didn’t say much in response, and shouldn’t. The G-MEN just have to go play the gaem.
Cowboys carry 11-year-old monkey on their backs - And I hope the Giants make it a 12-year drought. I was also very happy that Parcells didn’t have any Playoff success in Dallas. I was very unhappy with him going down there. I know that this is his team, but he’s a Giant.
New York Daily News:
Terrell Owens ready, set and good to go against the Giants on Sunday - T.O. told everybody that he’s fine and to ‘get your popcorn ready’. What a dusch bag?
Bet ranch on Cowboys if you dare, but beware of road-savvy Giants
Giants’ defense can beat Cowboys in Dallas with Eagles’ scheme - I was going to bring up this point and still will bring up this point when I write up the Pregame. The Giants Defensive Coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, is a protoge of the Eagles Defensive Coordinator, Jim Johnson. Jim Johnson was able to devise a game plan to keep the Eagles in the game against the Patriots and to beat the Cowboys. Steve Spagnuolo was able to use the Eagles game plan as a blueprint to almost beat the Pats, and hopefully he will be able to use the Eagles game plan as a blueprint to beat the Cowboys tomorrow.
No more jabs from Brandon Jacobs - That’s the right way to go about it.
New York Post:
T.O.-DO LIST: K.O. OWENS - That’s for sure. There isn’t much you can do to him physically because Owens is a big receiver. T.O. is a big baby though. You can disrupt him mentally by batting down the balls. Hit him hard as soon as the ball arrives. The only way the Giants can stop Owens is if they don’t let him complete the pass. In some ways, Shockey is like that too. If Owens doesn’t get involved, he starts complaining. No matter what, he is a lethal threat. But he can be ratttled.
