Saturday’s Giants News
![]()
In 24 hours, we will know whether or not the New York Football Giants will be representing the NFC in the Superbowl. My guess is that they will. I’m all pumped up right now. There hasn’t been as much hype as last week’s game. Last week there was so much going on from Romo’s Cabo vacation to T.O.’s injury to Patrick Crayton’s trash talking to Wade Phillip’s ugly Playoff resume to Romo’s ugly Playoff Resume to T.O.’s inability to win a Superbowl because he’s a ‘me’ player to T.O.’s get your popcorn ready to Jerry Jones’ face after the loss to T.O. crying. Even though tomorrow could launch the Jints to the Superbowl, the victory would not be as enjoyable as the win over the Cowboys and their drama. The Packers have to much class as an organization to allow any of the crap that Jerry Jones tolerates.
Empire State Building Lights up - That’s right Giants fans. NYC is representing the outstanding season Big Blue had in 2007 by lighting up the Empire State Building.

One step away - That’s right Die Hard Giants Fans. One more win lands the NY Giants a trip to the Superbowl.
Transcript: DE Michael Strahan - Michael Strahan’s joke of the day came at the expense of the big fat contract that Justin Tuck signed yesterday.
Q. Did Tuck come in and buy anything for the defensive linemen today?
MICHAEL STRAHAN: No, actually I got kind of tired I told Osi leave him alone about the money jokes. I told Osi of all the people, we should know that the jokes get old real fast. We’re happy for him. He deserves every penny of it. He’s had a great season.
So I messed with him a little bit. But he already bought us something. I’ll be honest with you, I bought the entire defensive line watches, Tuck bought us something. Osi is the only one that hasn’t come out of the pocket. So of all the people, Osi needs to stop being so cheap and spread the love a little bit.
Transcript: LB Antonio Pierce - Michael Eisen asked Antonio Pierce about the speech that Tom Coughlin will deliver to the G-MEN tonight.
Q. Tom Coughlin says he gives a lot to thought to his pregame speech Saturday night. How good a motivational speaker is he, and can a coach really say anything to fire you up at this stage?
ANTONIO PIERCE: He’s been getting better, I can tell you that. The ones before were kind of like bedtime stories. There was too much going on. Half the guys couldn’t relate to it. Now he’s getting up to date, to the 2000 era. He’s been doing a lot of things different each and every week. We’ve had special people come in there and talk to the people, people like that, and he’s had honorary captains. So he’s done things very differently. Of course he says things to fire guys up. He knows what buttons to push with certain guys on our team and I think he understands our mentality right now.

Newsday:
Packers’ game plan simple: Pressure Eli - It sounds easy, but the Packers D-Line has to get by the Giants O-Line.
Giants WR Smith contributing from the brink
Tuck signs 5-year, $30M extension - I believe that Justin Tuck earned the contract that the Giants gave him. However, the timing is questionable. It is the two days before the NFC Championship game. Perhaps the Giants could’ve waited until after February 3, 2008 or tomorrow (worse case scenario). Big Blue should have required Justin to have 3 sacks in each outing to get him motivated for a $30M contract extention.
Giants fans head for the tundra - I wish I was going with them.
Would Lombardi have adjusted to today’s players?
Cheesy headwear a slice of 1980s Americana
Tiki not jealous of Giants’ success - We all know he’s lying, but if Tiki was on the team then it would be about him rather than about him.

Eli Manning to have left hand covered - Eli practiced all week with one glove on like he was Michael Jackson. Manning practiced with a glove on his left hand (non-throwing hand) to get comfortable with it if he needs it tomorrow due to the frigid conditions. He said it would be a game time decision on whether or not he’ll wear the glove.
Big chill doesn’t change Giants’ plans
Nevermind the Packers - real green is Las Vegas, baby - William Sherman wrote that more than $35M would be bet on tomorrow’s Giants vs. Packers game.
Justin Tuck signs five-year extension
WFAN host Craig Carton’s long march after losing bet with Boomer Esiason - I was listening to Boomer and Craig when he said that. He said that there was no way that the Giants would beat the Cowboys. Boomer and Craig placed a wager on the spread. If Craig lost then he had to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in a speedo and a tight Giants jersey. Big Blue came through so Craig did what he had to do.
Sod but true: N.J. grass in Lambeau - Another useless fact…just in case you were wondering where the sod was grown, now you know.
