Spagnuolo is Back in Blue!
WFAN just reported that Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is not going to be a Head Coach with the Washington Redskins and will be returning to the New York Giants. We know he met with Dan Snyder for 10 hours yesterday, and what took place in Washington was not disclosed. Rumor is that the Giants gave him over $2 million per year for three years to stay with Big Blue. I’ve read that the Giants organization and the Giants fans expressed how much they want him back. I’ve read that players like Justin Tuck wants Michael Strahan and Spags back so they can repeat.
It was clear how big his impact was, especially in the Playoffs. The Giants held the Buccaneers to 14 points, they held the Cowboys to 17 points, they held the Packers to 20 points, and they held the Patriots to 14 points. That’s pretty good if you ask me. The Giants defense was able to make the big stop in the big game, and that is something that hasn’t happened in years. Spags was the man behind it all, and I’m thrilled that he’s coming back in 2008. I’m already getting pumped up about next year.
