Tuesday’s Giants News
![]()
The biggest news for the fans of the New York Football Giants was the signing of Sammy Knight. You can check all of that out below. Bigger NFL news was Brett Favre announcing his retirement this morning. Favre is going out after leading a young team to the NFC Championship game before getting beat by the Big Blue Wrecking Crew in Lambeau Field. Favre threw an interception to our boy, Corey Webster, in Overtime. This interception is what led to Bob Papa saying “Lawrence Tynes just kicked the Giants to the Super Bowl”. Favre is a classy dude. Die Hard Giants Fan would like to wish him well in retirement. We’ll miss what he does out there on the field, but we don’t have to face him head-to-head anymore either…
Last week, the official Green Bay Packers website announced Brett Favre’s retirement. The home page announced Brett Favre’s retirement on the left side and Packers news on right side. This took place before Brett Favre announced his retirement so it was a hint that it was probably going to take place. After a few hours, the Packers removed the portion dedicated to Favre, claimed that it was a test page, and stated that Brett was not retiring. Last year, Favre wanted Randy Moss to become a Packer, but it didn’t happen because Moss went to New England. This year, there is a rumor out there that Favre retired because the Packers didn’t get Moss. Moss resigned with New England yesterday, and Favre announced his retirement today so the timing of all of this makes it seem like the rumor has some truth to it. So long Brett!

Giants ink safety Knight - The Giants signed Safety Sammy Knight to a three-year deal.
Newsday:
Giants sign free-agent safety Knight - Sammy Knight, 32, signed a three-year, $5.15 million contract that included a $1.25 million signing bonus with Big Blue. Along with playing, Knight will be able to groom the young players just like Madison and McQuarters did. Three years seems a little long to me though. Sammy will be 35 by the time the contract expires.
