Piotr Czech Impresses Giants Scouts
For the most part, Free Agency is over. Free Agents can still be signed right now, but GMs and Scouts are starting to put their attention on the NFL Draft. Mike Garafolo, of The Star-Ledger, attended a small pro day on Saturday at Wagner College. Garafolo was very impressed with the kicking power of Piotr Czech. Mike described the weather as cold and windy. With Scouts from the Giants, Eagles, and Colts watching, Czech made all 7 Field Goals with the wind at his back (From the 30 to the 59 yardline). Garafolo noted that Piotr only hit 4 out of 7 when going into the wind (including a long of 55 yards), but the scouts were rushing Czech to get the field ready for a game that was about to take place.
Besides Piotr Czech, Mike was impressed with Craig Hormann who is the Quarterback at Colombia. Garafolo stated this about Hormann, “He’s got great size (6-4, 230), a good arm, some very good touch and even a little bit of mobility. Plus, he’s an Ivy Leaguer, so chances are he can digest a game plan or two.” Mike believes that he can be an effective third string QB.
