Wednesday’s Giants News: Scouts at Rutgers

While Jerry Reese went to the pro day at LSU, two Giants scouts were check out players at Rutgers. The Draft is about a month away now. I’m always so impatient about it because I want to know what type of talent will be on the Giants the following season. When you pick 32nd, so many things can happen which makes it almost unpredictable. However, it’s worth picking 32nd because they are the reigning Champions.
Special Meeting - Michael Eisen pointed out that Tom Coughlin invited Lieutenant General Ray Odierno and his son to Giants Stadium.
Good to be a Champion! - Khalil Garriott found out that Antonio Pierce has not come down from cloud nine two months after winning Super Bowl XLII!
Giants extend G Seubert - Michael Eisen also covered the contract extention that the Giants gave to Rich Seubert. The Star-Ledger reported this story yesterday.

Snippets from Rutgers pro day - Mike Garafolo attended the pro day at Rutgers and kept an eye on a bunch of draft hopefuls: RB Ray Rice, OL Jeremy Zuttah, OL Mike Fladell, DB Ron Girault, WR James Townsend, and DT Eric Foster. Garafolo stated that the Giants had two scouts there but no coaches.
Season opener could be a bit earlier - Mike Garafolo found out that “The defending Super Bowl champions’ season opener, which will be played at Giants Stadium, might kick off at 7 p.m. — rather than the usual 8:30 start — in order to avoid a conflict with the last day of the Republican National Convention.” Is anybody going to watch the Convention over opening day of the NFL?
