Thursday’s Giants News: Eli is Getting Married

April 17, 2008 By: Keith Category: Eli Manning, Giants Stadium, Jeremy Shockey, NFL, New York Giants No Comments →

Abby McGrew and Eli ManningAs you will read below, Eli is getting married this weekend.  Go Eli!

I miss football so much right now.  What do you guys think of a 52-Week season?  Hah, wouldn’t that be something?  At least winning the Super Bowl added another month to the long offseason.

New York Daily News:

Eli Manning to wed girlfriend in Mexico - Jo Piazza and Dave Goldiner pointed out that Eli Manning is going to marry his college sweetheart, Abby McGrew, this weekend.  Eli met Abby while they were students at the University of Mississippi, and he proposed to her last March.  The couple wants the wedding to be very low-key, you know Eli.  Guess where the wedding is?  The wedding is on Saturday at the One&Only Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  Do you think Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson, and Jason Whitten will be down there?  Alright, that was a low blow because were talking about Abby and Eli’s special day.  Die Hard Giants Fan would like to wish Abby and Eli and wonderful and long lasting marriage.  And maybe, just maybe, they will have some sons with the “Manning Quarterback” pedigree so we will continue to see more Manning’s playing QB in the NFL.

New York Post:

JINT GUEST LIST A SMOKESCREEN - Paul Schwartz lets us know about the workouts this week at Giants StadiumThis article was more of an overview and not as in depth as the articles written by Mike Garafolo at The Star-Ledger.

The Star-Ledger:

Reese won’t say yes or no on Shockey

Preseason sked change - Mike Garafolo found out that the NFL reported two Preseason schedule changes.  The Giants were affected by one of the changes.  “Instead of traveling to Carolina on Saturday, Aug. 9 to play the Panthers, the Giants will instead open their preseason in Detroit against the Lions on Thursday, Aug. 7.”

Eli Manning plans to get married this weekend, report says

Hayes, Grant visit - Mike Garafolo pointed out that two more draft hopefuls will be working out with the Giants: Winston-Salem State DE/LB William Hayes and Ohio State LB Larry Grant.

Wednesday’s Giants News: Scouts at Rutgers

March 26, 2008 By: Keith Category: Antonio Pierce, Giants Stadium, NFL, New York Giants, Rich Seubert, Tom Coughlin No Comments →

Ray RiceWhile Jerry Reese went to the pro day at LSU, two Giants scouts were check out players at Rutgers.  The Draft is about a month away now.  I’m always so impatient about it because I want to know what type of talent will be on the Giants the following season.  When you pick 32nd, so many things can happen which makes it almost unpredictable.  However, it’s worth picking 32nd because they are the reigning Champions.

Special Meeting - Michael Eisen pointed out that Tom Coughlin invited Lieutenant General Ray Odierno and his son to Giants Stadium.

Good to be a Champion! - Khalil Garriott found out that Antonio Pierce has not come down from cloud nine two months after winning Super Bowl XLII!

Giants extend G Seubert - Michael Eisen also covered the contract extention that the Giants gave to Rich Seubert.  The Star-Ledger reported this story yesterday.

Newsday:

Super Bowl champ Giants offer extension to guard Seubert

New York Daily News:

Giants sign Rich Seubert to three-year extension

New York Post:

SEUBERT RE-UPS FOR THREE YEARS

The Star-Ledger:

Snippets from Rutgers pro day - Mike Garafolo attended the pro day at Rutgers and kept an eye on a bunch of draft hopefuls: RB Ray Rice, OL Jeremy Zuttah, OL Mike Fladell, DB Ron Girault, WR James Townsend, and DT Eric Foster.  Garafolo stated that the Giants had two scouts there but no coaches.

Season opener could be a bit earlier - Mike Garafolo found out that “The defending Super Bowl champions’ season opener, which will be played at Giants Stadium, might kick off at 7 p.m. — rather than the usual 8:30 start — in order to avoid a conflict with the last day of the Republican National Convention.”  Is anybody going to watch the Convention over opening day of the NFL?

A done deal with Seubert

Saturday’s Giants News: Cowboys Want Pacman

March 22, 2008 By: Keith Category: Aaron Ross, Giants Stadium, NFL, New York Giants, Roger Goodell No Comments →

Late last night, I went onto CBSSportsline.com to check out the status of my Brackets and I found a reason why we can all laugh at Dallas if you haven’t heard it already.  Here it goes.  The Cowboys had preliminary discussion with the Titans about trading for Adam “Pacman” Jones.  Start laughing and keep on laughing.  It is rumored that the Cowboys may only have to give up a late-round draft pick to acquire Jones.  Supposedly, the Titans are in no hurry to trade Pacman.  Adam’s agent, Manny Arora, would like to trade Jones somewhere before the NFL Draft.  Pacman understands that he may have to take a paycut to even get a job in the NFL and is willing to do so.  Roger Goodell said he will review suspension before training camps open in July.  Even though Adam may get signed elsewhere, the suspension may not get lifted because he continued to get into trouble during the suspension.  This could lead to Dallas signing a player that may not even be allowed to play.  Sucks to be them.  Now you see why the Agent is trying to rush the trade.

Is it just me or does Big D love these outlaws?  They picked up Tank Johnson last year who had to sit on the bench for the first 8 games due to having multiple machine guns and several thousand rounds of ammunition in his home along with a bunch of other stuff.  Although T.O. is not a criminal, he is the biggest distraction in the NFL.  Multiple teams benched him for the remainder of the season, and Bill Parcells left Dallas because of him.  The early 1990’s Cowboys weren’t much better if you remember.  So I believe that Jerry Jones doesn’t give a damn about a players’ character.  As long as Dallas has a bunch of strip clubs, Pacman would love to go to a new city and shoot’em up.  Perhaps Jones’ can train future teammates like Tony Romo and Jason Witten how to throw around hundreds of thousands of dollars and open up fire in a strip club.

Shame on the Dallas Cowboys for hiring these types of people.  Shame on the NFL for allowing these thugs to play in the NFL.  It doesn’t stop there.  We have Strahan who should be in jail.  Ray Lewis should be in jail.  Half of the Bengals roster should be in jail.  The list goes on and on.  I only remember Michael Vick going to jail.  Something is very wrong.

Success Follows CB Ross - Aron Angel pointed out that Aaron Ross won a Super Bowl in his rookie year after an impressive college career.  Angel chats about this success with Ross.

Giants 2008 Ticket Pricing - Michael Eisen explains the ticket pricing by section at Giants Stadium.

New York Times:
