R.W. McQuartersOne more long day.  That’s because we’re playing the last game of the day on SNF.  Let’s get on with it already.

Newsday:

Teammates peg punter Feagles as Pro Bowl fodder - Arthur Staple interviewed a few Giants players, and they believe that Punter Jeff Feagles should make the Pro Bowl.

New York Daily News:

Brandon Jacobs must hold on to ball

New York Post:

IT’S PLAXI-GO!

WILSON COULD KNEED MORE TIME TO HEAL - Gibril Wilson said that the worst case scenario is another week.  Hopefully he is correct.  We’ll need him back in time for the Playoffs.

New York Times:

McQuarters Not Fazed by Threat of Harsh Weather

Where is the Defense?

Not sure what happened to that young squad from the pre-season but we are getting bombarded right now. It seems the real weakness lies amongst the cornerbacks and safeties.

R.W. McQuarters and Corey Webster are two of the main reasons why we need to rotate our players more frequently. They’re getting beat on the long pass ridiculously. Let’ give some more time to the rookie Aaron Ross and let him grasp the game further. Gibril Wilson is another player contributing to the defense and making it count with a couple of interceptions.

We need to tighten up the long yard gains from other teams and figure out a way to use the older players in a cover scheme rather than the aggresive man to man.

I don’t know, but the management needs to make adjustments quick before we let this season slip. We are 0-2 and play the Redskins next; then it’s the Eagles. If we don’t change patterns now, this season might not be what we expected.

Let’s hope the coaching motivates this defense to step up and challenge players to make plays.

These Cowboys don’t know it’s coming

I’m not going to talk crap but, I can’t help it. I believe our team to be superior than the Cowboys. We might be underdogs but it shouldn’t affect any of us. It will just make victory that much juicier. The big test will be our offensive line; will they hold the Dallas defensive unit? big question.

Here is what I see onthe defense:
Tony Romo is not much of a long distance passer so R.W. McQuarters and Corey Webster should be fine. Our linebackers are going to have to be at their best against Julius Jones and Marion Barber (I see this as our main problem). Luckily, our defensive line is full of beasts and we will make Tony Romo dance with the stars, I say 5 sacks.

On the offense, Eli Manning will have a field day if he chooses to throw some bad boys down the field. Our speedy receivers can and hopefully will tire out their corners if that’s the route we decide to go. Our running game is yet to be displayed and can’t wait to see what these boys can really do. The Offensive line concerns me but not sure what the outcome of their efforts will be.

Special Teams: hope we don’t fumble

GOOD LUCK GIANTS….LET’S PROVE THESE COWBOYS WRONG….ACTUALLY, EVERYONE WHO’S SLEEPING ON MY BOYS

Youngsters in the Outfield

August 17, 2007 By: phessional Category: NFL, New York Giants, R.W. McQuarters No Comments →

Old school vs. new school is the topic. “Respect your elders,” says
McQuarters to the young future generation of the New York Giants
defensive backs.

Giants are ready for the next generation to step up so it was a very
good move to have these players already on our side.

The corners stay jokingly calling each other names and laughing
together which is a good sign. This helps them stay positive and
motivated when it comes down to live action games.

The two good things about this whole situation, is that they are
fitting together well and getting along just fine as a team. Also, that
these young outfielders are learning from two very experienced corners.

To all fit together well means they will communicate better and feel
comfortable with each other in pointing out criticisms. It’s
psychological that the closer you feel to the team, the better your
minds work together to understand….you get what I’m saying?!

Second, these young players are learning from the experienced. Even
though, our outside is blessed with quickness they will learn that it is
not necessarily all about speed. The outside, just like linebackers, use
vision the majority of the time. The hardest part about it is making the
chase and opening your eyes to the rest of the field once past the
vision. The outside game happens so fast that if you blink, the
receivers have a high chance of scoring.

It is very important for the Big Blue to have a good outside defensive
game. It has been a few years since we have been able to shut down
offenders but we’ll see.
